This downward trend has been a few years coming for Motorola. They were one of the hot companies to work for about 3 or 4 years ago, especially in Illinois (because their headquarters are in the NW burbs).
I hope someone publishes an in-depth case study of Motorola 2004-2008 because it’ll basically be titled “How to let your organization fall apart”. Don’t think that the worst has come for them either. The first half of 2009 will be nothing short of catastrophic for them.
