After months of searching and recon, I have finally found the closest equivalent to “The Spot” in Chicago.  I walked there last night from my apartment and just kinda stumbled upon it.  To confirm it was spot-worthy, I sat there and read sports articles on my Blackberry for a good 1/2 hour.  Not one person came within 50 yds of my seated location.  So I’m giving it my official seal of approval.

Now the whole idea behind the much aforementioned spot is to just have a location where you can go and no one really bothers you because they are physically unable or unwilling to reach you (aka The Spot in Manasquan) or because it’s so random and out of the way that no one really even thinks to hang out there (a la The Spot in Champaign).  It’s not meant to be secretive or exclusive, but just to serve as a place where no bullshit occurs.  At the same time, it’s really hard to find one of these spots in a city so the location will remain undisclosed.  Here are some hints though:

It has a great view.
It’s probably the highest naturally elevated location in Chicago.
It’s located between two large bodies of water, neither of which are Lake Michigan.
